While walking outside your dog may get a mite that usually fixes itself in the body of the animal and drinks blood. This insect is very unpleasant and dangerous because it is vector of encephalitis.
In order to get a mite off the body of a dog you will need oil or vaseline, alcohol or cologne, a ring (usual ring that you wear on the finger), a small pipette, tweezers and cotton wool. Put the ring around the zone of the tick bite, it is necessary to keep the vaseline, oil from spreading throughout the body of a dog. Take a small dropper and fill it with alcohol or cologne, the liquid should be spirituous. Drip vaseline or oil directly to the mite in place of the bite and wait at least 15 - 20 minutes. Do not hurry, because the longer you keep the tick in a dense liquid, the easier you may remove it. It would be impossible to it to breathe.
Take a prepared tweezers and very carefully try to get the tick by rotating tweezers only counterclockwise. If it goes hard repeat the procedure again with vaseline or oil. Do not pull the mite with the force, you can leave the head of the mite within the body of a dog and then there can be irritation.
When you have removed the tick from the body of a dog, apply a cologne or alcohol on cotton wool and wipe the animal’s wound. Give your pet what it likes as a reward for restraint in not a pleasant procedure.
Make sure that the head of the mite is removed completely. If you're not quite sure that get off the mite completely or want to know it is contagious, then put the mite in a bag and take it and the dog to the vet for analysis.
